WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE: A HISTORY OF THE OLD
PROTESTANT BURYING GROUND, CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
Non-fiction by George Wright
Co-published with Old Protestant Burying Ground Inc.
Spanning several blocks and nearly four centuries,
the cemetery known as the Old Protestant Burying Ground is prominently
located in downtown Charlottetown. It is the final resting ground
for up to 4,000 people who were interred between the late 1700s
and 1873. The book chronicles the burying ground from its creation
through to its closure and subsequent restoration efforts, and includes
60 short biographies of many of the Islandís most notable
families.
George Wright has had a long history of interest in the Burying
Ground, with at least nine direct ancestors buried there (great-great-great-
and great-great-grandparents).
